The Plaza de la Raza’s annual Día de los Muertos Festival is a family-friendly celebration of art, music, dance, and tradition. The event includes art exhibitions and ofrendas by local artists, mainstage performances, hands-on workshops, local food booths, craft vendors, and more. All guests are welcome to add photos or items of their loved ones to our main community altar. There will be a beloved pet altar as well.

Celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with a gardening program featuring The Ugly Vegetables by Grace Lin. After reading the book, we will learn about gardening with kitchen scraps while growing our ugly vegetables to enjoy at home.
STORRIER STEARNS JAPANESE GARDEN
This Japanese garden features a light hill-scape, pond, cascading 25-foot waterfall, and a formal teahouse designed by Kinzuchi Fujii. The garden is considered by many to be a masterwork, demonstrating the adaptability of Japanese culture in modern America. Friday Night Family Flicks at Lankershim Arts Center
