Experience the interior of Hollyhock House at your own pace with a self-guided tour. Docents are on hand to provide information and answer questions. Guidebooks are also available for visitors to use in the house.

Experience a captivating performance featuring the ancient Chinese guzheng accompanied by English, Cantonese, and Mandarin vocals. This program not only showcases the guzheng’s dynamic sounds but also delves into its history and contemporary uses. You will explore various traditional, contemporary, and extended playing techniques of the guzheng. Our goal is to encourage the audience to rethink how non-Western instruments can be integrated into modern music and to appreciate the diverse cultures that contribute to the vibrant tapestry of Los Angeles.
Bojagi is a traditional Korean wrapping cloth with a rich history. In this class, we will explore the art of wrapping and discover the numerous ways to utilize Bojagi, from adding an elegant touch to gifts to crafting fun, reusable, and sustainable market bags. Attendees will learn four wrapping styles and take home a Bojagi.
Join the weekly Latin Jazz Sessions, led by Matthew Hernandez, for an introduction to various Latin music styles, including cha-cha, boleros, salsa, cumbia, and merengue. Open to all ages, these sessions provide sheet music and drumming pattern worksheets. No prior musical experience is necessary, and instruments are available for use.
The City of Monterey Park celebrates its birthday with a carnival event featuring big rides, kiddie rides, games, and various attractions, including live entertainment and a handful of delicious food trucks each day. A family event that runs for four days.
Visit Barnes Park for the annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration Tribute. The event will highlight the sights, sounds, and magic of Mexico with a dynamic performance by the Mariachi by Antonio Navarro and a Concert with COLD DUCK.
