Lincoln Heights Youth Arts Center (LHYAC) invites you to the 8th Annual Día de Los Muertos Days of Remembrance (October 29 and 30, and November 1, 2025)! LHYAC will have various ways for you to engage in this important cultural tradition, including coming to visit LHYAC's annual indigenous ofrenda created with local  ancestral healer, Georgina Cuatencos, in our front courtyard. Check out our schedule of activities below and see you soon! 

Community Altar - Come and add your own photos, recuerdos, treats, and other items in honor of your loved ones who have passed on, or join us as a visitor to come and take in everyone's beautiful offerings! Our altar is open to the public and free to visit.

Digital Ofrenda - If you are unable to attend in person, you can still participate by uploading an image using the QR code. Uploaded images will be included in our community altar in a digital slideshow. Just scan the QR code (BELOW) with your cell phone and follow the step-by-step instructions.

Paper Art Frame Making Workshop with Ms. Janet

Join us to celebrate this ancient indigenous tradition of the Mesoamerican people dating back more than 3,000 years that connects the living and the departed. Festivities include Danza Mexica, a platica on the tradition of altar making with Maestra Georgina Cuatencos, art workshops, face painting, and more! We will end the evening with a screening of the film, The Book of Life at 7:00 p.m.

All events are free and open to the public!

The Los Angeles River Farmers’ Market

The Los Angeles River Farmers’ Market is also a community meeting place with a wide range of activities and offerings, including live music, activities for children, and a rich and varied offering of artisans selling their handmade arts and crafts. Echo Park Farmers’ Market
