The Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF) is an international event dedicated to excellence in filmmaking. Through film, television, music, and education, LALIFF offers a vibrant stage to celebrate the richness and diversity of Latino cinema through distinct directorial voices and culturally significant narratives. Recognized by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as an Oscar® Qualifying Festival, LALIFF has been home to debut films by acclaimed directors and has launched the careers of numerous filmmakers, artists, and storytellers.

Christmas Holiday display of our finest antiques, Santa Clauses, angels, choir boys, and village scenes that depict Dickens’s Victorian Christmas. Our Christmas tree will be decorated with our collection of antique ornaments and there will be a display of vintage Christmas cards.

Discover the architectural charm of the Lanterman House, a historic site surrounded by patios and featuring thirty-two French doors. Guided tours, led by knowledgeable docents, last about 75 minutes and start from the Visitor Center. The venue offers free parking, but note that the house is not air-conditioned. Tuesdays, Thursdays, and the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month at 1:00 p.m.

The Tech TryOut Cart will display a selection of devices Android, Windows, and iOS devices for patron to try out. You can also bring your own smartphone or tablet for hands-on help with the library’s e-media services.

Join the weekly Latin Jazz Sessions, led by Matthew Hernandez, for an introduction to various Latin music styles, including cha-cha, boleros, salsa, cumbia, and merengue. Open to all ages, these sessions provide sheet music and drumming pattern worksheets. No prior musical experience is necessary, and instruments are available for use.
