Monica Youn, an associate professor of English at UC Irvine and former constitutional lawyer, reads from her latest volume, FROM FROM, a finalist for the 2023 National Book Award. The book’s poems tackle issues of racism faced by Asian Americans and other communities in the United States.

On Wednesday, May 14, 2025,from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., at Cantabria Senior Apartments, EngAGE, Inc, presents Art Show: Through the Lens of California History. Residents explored art mediums and techniques that reflect the diverse cultural and environmental landscapes present in California’s history. Senior artists at affordable housing communities in the valley will be displaying their art. Their work is a culmination of a 14-week writing class produced by EngAGE, Inc.
