World Tourism Day, designated by the United Nations and celebrated yearly on Sept. 27th, ushers in our one-day event on the 28th, where Thai and non-Thai attendees are welcomed to experience the wonders of Thailand in their own backyard—and in a different area of the city from the usual night markets available in Thai Town and LA’s east side. The westside event will celebrate Thai cultural identity with food, art, culture, and sports. Guests can expect world-class cuisine and demonstrations from LA’s best Thai restaurants, including Thai SELECT honorees (the official “seal of approval” awarded by the Royal Thai Government’s Ministry of Commerce to deserving products and restaurants) and special appearances by world-famous WBC Muay Thai fighters Buakaw Banchamek and Saenchai Saepong.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

We Live in Painting: The Nature of Color in Mesoamerican Art

Mesoamerican artists held a cosmic responsibility: as they adorned the surfaces of buildings, clay vessels, textiles, bark-paper pages, and sculptures with color, they (quite literally) made the world. Color mapped the very order of the cosmos, of time and space. The exhibition explores the science, art, and cosmology of color in Mesoamerica. See website for ticket prices and registration.
