The Mariachi Plaza Festival Foundation (MPFF) continues the festival’s tradition started in 1990. The mission of the MPFF is “to celebrate the heritage of Mariachi culture, nurture its presence in our community, and invite new audiences to experience its intricate magnificence.” The main activity of the MPFF is to plan and conduct an annual free concert at Plaza Mariachi, which will include a resource fair.

We Live in Painting: The Nature of Color in Mesoamerican Art

Mesoamerican artists held a cosmic responsibility: as they adorned the surfaces of buildings, clay vessels, textiles, bark-paper pages, and sculptures with color, they (quite literally) made the world.
