In this class, we will explore the art of wrapping and discover the numerous ways to utilize Bojagi, from adding an elegant touch to gifts to crafting fun, reusable, and sustainable market bags. Attendees will learn four wrapping styles and take home a Bojagi.
LA Made Presents: Guzheng and Vocal Performance: An Exploration of Asian American Music
Experience a captivating performance featuring the ancient Chinese guzheng accompanied by English, Cantonese, and Mandarin vocals. This program not only showcases the guzheng’s dynamic sounds but also delves into its history and contemporary uses. You will explore various traditional, contemporary, and extended playing techniques of the guzheng. Our goal is to encourage the audience to rethink how non-Western instruments can be integrated into modern music and to appreciate the diverse cultures that contribute to the vibrant tapestry of Los Angeles.
STORRIER STEARNS JAPANESE GARDEN
This Japanese garden features a light hill-scape, pond, cascading 25-foot waterfall, and a formal teahouse designed by Kinzuchi Fujii. The garden is considered by many to be a masterwork, demonstrating the adaptability of Japanese culture in modern America. Downton Pomona Art Walk
The Downtown Pomona Arts Colony has an art walk every second Saturday of the month that bring big crowds to stroll the streets. Over a dozen galleries host receptions and open houses to showcase their latest exhibits and artists. Enjoy music, food, wine.
