Sick is a new, full-length dramedy. It tells of the early 1970s struggle to de-classify homosexuality as a mental illness in the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (The DSM). Based in part on the historical record, the play follows pioneering gay activist and aversion therapy survivor Ron Gold as he leads a full-throttle attack on the psychiatric establishment.
