Raymond Lewis and the Ase Ashe Drummers will be performing at the General Jeff Park. Drumming events build community connections. AAPI LATINX: HIDDEN INTERNMENT: THE ART SHIBAYAMA STORY

Join us for a film screening of Hidden Internment: The Art Shibayama Story, a film about the lesser-known history of the Japanese-Latin American internment through the life story of Art Shibayama, who, at 13, was taken from Peru on March 22, 1944, and interned in Crystal City Texas for two years. Beethoven’s Fidelio with Dudamel and Deaf West Theatre

Dudamel conducts, in collaboration with the Deaf West Theatre, an innovative production of Beethoven’s Fidelio, created for both deaf and hearing audiences. A story told through the composer’s music sung by hearing vocalists accompanied by the expressive gestural poetry of sign language by deaf actors.
