Angels Gate Cultural Center (AGCC) and the Marine Mammal Care Center (MMCC) are collaborating on monthly Science & Art Workshops! Every first Saturday of the Month.

Free for all, kids and adults, all ages welcome.

Join us for a creative afternoon with the Education Team at MMCC and Artist-Teacher Daniel Porras!

Following a science lesson from the MMCC team and a tour of our mammal friends at The Center, attendee’s will be led by Artist-Teacher Daniel in an art project where they will paint and draw Seals and Sea Lions in their watery habitats!

Together, workshop participants will apply layer upon layer of thin watercolor washes between drawings and mark makings. We will learn to push the limits of the medium by creating texture with salt and various brushes. The goal will be to create the illusion of sea water where one can see their mammal friends swimming!

We can not wait to have you join us!

All supplies will be provided and everyone is welcome.

ArtLab is back at the MMCC in-person! Please meet us in the classroom at MMCC before 1 PM to claim your reservation. Masks preferred, not required. All ages welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

The event will begin promptly at 1pm.
