Sign up for BJAC classes and join the fun! Winter 2026 Session: January 13 – March 7 

Join us this Winter! Registration Information: 

Registration begins October 27 at 9:00 a.m. via Eventbrite. 

Class Fees will be collected December 1 to December 12 in person at the Barnsdall Junior Arts Center. 

Registration Process: Step 1– Register online via Eventbrite to reserve your spot and pay the lab fee. 

Step 2- Visit the link (Google Appointment) provided in the Eventbrite confirmation email, after registering, to schedule a time and day to pay your class fees between December 1 to December 12. 

Step 3– Visit the Barnsdall Junior Arts Center Main Office during your scheduled time to make your payment. ** cash and check (payable to the City of Los Angeles, Dept. of Cultural Affairs) ONLY.**

Barnsdall Junior Arts Center (BJAC) Gallery

BJAC Gallery fosters a vibrant creative community by welcoming all to experience the arts, creativity, and culture. Established in 1967, it was the first gallery in Los Angeles dedicated to hosting artworks by children. Today, the BJAC Gallery generates innovative arts exhibition that have expanded to include adults from the BAC program as well as artists within the surrounding community and greater Los Angeles.

This photographic collection invites viewers to see Haiti anew—not as a tragedy, but as a living archive of strength, art, and ancestral continuity. Robles illuminates Haiti’s rightful place in the world’s cultural history—as a nation that, against all odds, continues to create, celebrate and resist. 

Opening Reception: Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Exhibition Dates: January 24 to March 21, 2026 

Public Program: Artist Talk, February 21, from 11:30 p.m. to noon

Barnsdall Junior Arts Center (BJAC) nurtures the imaginations of children and young people in their artistic development. A fixture of the Los Angeles arts education community since 1967, BJAC continues to build on its national reputation as a distinguished institution devoted to excellence, originality, public service, and artistic creativity. The center’s small, dynamic classes support families, children, and young people in discovering the creative process through mediums ranging from visual to performing arts. The staff and teaching artists are steadfast in their belief that arts education develops curiosity and builds confidence which leads to thriving and culturally rich communities.
