JOB DESCRIPTION
Pro-active and collaborative members of the PERF leadership team, Performing Arts Program Coordinators serve as the Technical Directors of a PERF center under the direction of the Art Center Director. As the highest position among the theater's technical staff, the Technical Director is responsible for operating, protecting, and maintaining the theater’s technical assets, while also managing and overseeing the different technical departments, including sets, lighting, costumes, projections, props, sound and special effects. Technical Directors will oversee each venue’s technical and production operations, including purchasing production and technical materials and tools, supervising the load-in and load-out of scenic elements, lighting and audio equipment, overseeing the work of the production and technical crews during rehearsals and performances, and maintaining the shop’s equipment and supplies. Technical Directors will be responsible for meeting with renters, tracking and processing all production budgets, supervising the full-time, part-time and over-hire production and technical staffs, scheduling and managing theatrical equipment upkeep and repairs, and assisting with physical plant maintenance. Frequent nights and weekends are required. This position is tasked with supporting 200+ rentals and programming events annually, plus a multitude of ongoing meetings, as well as direct communication with community groups, and potential clients/renters including commercial rentals and film and television location shoots.

Under the supervision of a Public Information Director, the Public Relations Specialist I will prepare informational, promotional, or educational material regarding Department of Cultural Affairs functions or activities, for presentation by publication, broadcast, or digital media; may coordinate public relations events and related work. A Public Relations Specialist is engaged in activities intended to increase public understanding of Department services, and to obtain public participation in activities, events, and resources provided by the Department of Cultural Affairs.
