KBLA celebrates Black History Month by spotlighting and honoring Black Media Climate Justice Champions whose work and witness, serve as a beacon of light and hope to all of us. Do you know what climate justice is? Most Americans don’t know the term, but a new survey suggests it can be a powerful organizing tool once they learn about it. These honorees are making an impact in the awareness of understanding of climate justice—informing their communities about what it is, who it affects, and what can be done about it. Over the past year and a half, artists and collectors have donated 80 works by almost 35 artists to The Cheech Center Collection. This year’s exhibition will highlight some new additions alongside works from Cheech Marin’s initial gift of 500 works. The latest exhibition, Cheech Collects, explores different forms within the Cheech Marin Collection.
