Joins us as we celebrate Natsumatsuri on Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m. at the Japanese American National Museum!

Natsumatsuri is an annual summer family festival that features free cultural performances, crafts, and activities for families, kids of all ages, parents, and grandparents. The festival brings together the community by supporting and showcasing the work of local artists and artisans. This year’s Natsumatsuri will feature interactive storytelling, musical performances, crafts and origami, a scavenger hunt, and more! Enjoy performances by Ryukyukoku Matsuri Daiko and East LA Taiko!

Admission is FREE  to all current JANM exhibitions!

We Live in Painting: The Nature of Color in Mesoamerican Art

Mesoamerican artists held a cosmic responsibility: as they adorned the surfaces of buildings, clay vessels, textiles, bark-paper pages, and sculptures with color, they (quite literally) made the world. Brackish Water Los Angeles

On the National Language: The Poetry of America’s Endangered Tongues

This exhibition showcases forty-seven portraits of speakers and students of endangered languages living in the United States.
