El Grito de Dolores, ¡Viva La Resistencia

Join 2025 Latino Heritage Month Chair, Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez;
Mayor Karen Bass; the Los Angeles City Council; and the Department of Cultural
Affairs (DCA) to commemorate the beginning of Latino Heritage Month in the City
of Los Angeles.

Angelenos are invited to tour ¡Viva La Resistencia! art exhibition at the DCA’s Henry P.
Rio Bridge Gallery at City Hall, which will be on display from August 29 to September 26,
2025, featuring artwork from artists in Los Angeles. This year’s theme will celebrate the
legacy of resistance within Latino, Indigenous, and immigrant communities. At a time
when families are being torn apart, constitutional rights are under attack, and diversity
is seen as a threat, cultura—language, music, art, food, and dance—becomes a form of
defiance.
