Arleta High School Fall Spotlight Showcase
Event Schedule
As part of The Unusual Suspects’ 2-semester Youth Theatre Conservatory, students at Arleta High School collaborate to write original theatrical pieces during their 12-week fall residency, which they will perform at full productions in spring. Students’ works-in-progress will be shared at a public Spotlight Showcase event on November 5 at 2:20pm. Following live readings of the students’ works-in-progress, audience members will enjoy a “talk-back” discussion with the student playwrights.
The Fall works in progress will be revised in Spring for full student productions. Theatrical pieces written during The Unusual Suspects Theatre Company's residencies are completely created by the young participants using a devising process. Devised theatre is based on students’ authentic experiences, which they fictionalize using improvisation and other creative methods. Participants are not censored, and work collaboratively as an ensemble to create each character, story line, and bit of dialogue that makes up their original scripts.
Free to attend; registration is not required. Visitors may need to sign in at the Main School Office.
