As a DCA Partner Arts Center, CFAER is so thrilled to be a part of this year’s National Endowment for the Arts’ Big Read! Join this free, creative book club experience and read Charles Yu’s novel Interior Chinatown with us, then create zines based on themes featured in the book! We will be creating a collaborative zine using our shared personal stories and perspectives.

The Big Read will be occurring in connection with our monthly Zine Club, where we will be discussing the book and creating our zines together. Join us for this multi-day experience!

Step 1: Pick up your free copy of Interior Chinatown at our March Zine Club meeting, Friday March 31, 2023 from 6-8pm
Step 2: Read your book, and come to our April Zine Club meeting on Friday April 28th, 2023 6-8pm ready to discuss the book, and make some zines based on your personal connection to the themes!

We Live in Painting: The Nature of Color in Mesoamerican Art

Mesoamerican artists held a cosmic responsibility: as they adorned the surfaces of buildings, clay vessels, textiles, bark-paper pages, and sculptures with color, they (quite literally) made the world. On the National Language: The Poetry of America’s Endangered Tongues
