Please join Arts & Climate CA - LA for its Culture and Climate Exchange: World Cafe. This in-person event will be at La Plaza de Cultura y Artes in Downtown LA (501 N. Main Street). Our goal is building a diverse coalition that bridges culture, climate, and community, and we are holding a World Cafe to think deeply together about the role of arts and culture in meeting the challenges and opportunities ahead. With the coming of the 2028 Olympics, we have a unique catalyst to advance strategies that both strengthen our resilience and enable us to be part of telling the story of Los Angeles as we prepare to welcome the world.
We'll provide lunch and, listen and share ideas for actionable steps across Los Angeles that leverage the power of the arts to contribute to strong, resilient communities and the creation of hubs for sharing local culture during LA28.

Organizers include Arts & Climate CA, LA Commons, Arts for LA, and the UCLA Center for Diverse Leadership in Science. Please join us! Here's an Eventbrite Link.

What to Expect: Peer-led presentations and workshops. Engaging discussions with inspiring LA climate change, resiliency and arts leaders. Lunch and beverages. This is your chance to build community, exchange powerful ideas, and take actionable steps toward climate resilient solutions.

Our Bodies Are Memories of Our Bodies: Siapo ma Solo

siapo—indigenous Samoan barkcloth abstraction—and solo—poetry in the Samoan genre and worldview, here composed in English—by Fa’afafine, non-binary Samoan artist Dan Taulapapa McMullin. Printed on cloth with ink painting, these works embody the fa’asamoa understanding that the body itself is an archive, carrying ancestral and personal memory through the mana of social and environmental relationships.
