Since 1998 DANCES WITH FILMS has grown from presenting a handful of films to nearly 200 each year… from only narrative features and shorts to include the top documentaries, music videos tv & web on the circuit today. In 2007 DWF brought a new commitment to the indie world with the advent of the 2 Minute, 2 Step Short Film Challenge where we actually shoot 10 films during the festival and present them to enthusiastic audiences.

The Echo Park Farmers’ Market has grown steadily to become one of the most popular and well-attended of SEE-LA’s certified markets. Every Friday, 15 local farmers set up their tables and offer up a wide variety of produce and value-added products like jams and jellies, honey, and fresh farm-grown flowers. Community and family events are held regularly – and live music helps make this late afternoon and evening market a must-do for the neighborhood.
This Japanese garden features a light hill-scape, pond, cascading 25-foot waterfall, and a formal teahouse designed by Kinzuchi Fujii. The garden is considered by many to be a masterwork, and it demonstrates the adaptability of Japanese culture in modern America. Register in advance at the website. Join us this season as we explore the unseen forces that shape the behaviors of life forms large and small. From reproduction and propagation in the natural world to the sex life of other species, we’ll untangle the constructs of gender, feelings, and pheromones. We’ll also explore some of the predicaments facing all species of life, including over- and under-population, and offer doable solutions that we can all participate in to help maintain ecological stability.

Join in for evenings of live music, picnicking, and community on the LACMA grounds. Jazz at LACMA is a celebration of LA’s finest jazz musicians. Concerts are broadcast on KJAZZ (88.1 FM) every Sunday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and include interviews with featured performers.
