A free, family-friendly celebration of Earth Day and Indian-American cultural traditions with music, Classical Indian dance, and art-making.

Join us for a day in the park filled with vibrant colors, infectious beats, and amazing dance. This in-person event is all about embracing the joy of spring, and connecting through music, arts, and culture. Bring your friends, and let's make memories that bloom as bright as the earth itself!

  • Featuring special guest Akshara, a South Asian singer-songwriter blending Indian classical training with R&B, pop, and alternative influences.

Bring your own water bottle, as the LA Department of Water and Power is bringing their Mobile Water Truck, to make our footprint a little lighter!

Featured All-Ages Activities and Vendors include:

  • Miz Mehndi, offering pop-up henna services
  • Tea-Making Station - Create your own tea bags with our selection of Indian loose leaf teas, sourced directly from regenerative organic certified tea estates and farms at the base of the Himalayas. Teas are courtesy of expert tea blender Smita Satiani.
  • LA Compost, offering education, resources, and hands-on experiences to equip individual community members to be compost stewards and advocates within their communities.
  • LA City Clerk, offering non-partisan voter education, in-person registration opportunities, election information, multilingual assistance, and promote civic engagement to residents.

Dear Mazie

An exhibition inspired by the life and work of Amaza Lee Meredith (1895–1984), the first known Black queer woman to practice as an architect in the United States. Eleven contemporary artists, architects, and designers were commissioned to create responses to Meredith’s multifaceted legacy, plotting her life and work within themes of placemaking, gender, sexuality, and Black love, while also exploring her impact in public education, the arts, and architecture.

EVICTION RESPONSE WORKSHOP

This in-person workshop will guide you through the Tenant Power Toolkit. The Tenant Power Toolkit is an online resource that helps tenants create an answer (a legal response to their case) that raises the defenses they might have against the eviction. All attendees must bring their Summons and Complaint-Unlawful Detainer with them to the workshop. Tenants can get one-on-one assistance in both English and Spanish.
