* There will be no Saturday classes on April 8. Special Art Workshop and Egg Hunt is scheduled for this day. FREE for the entire family!

 

Classes include:

S-1 Drawing, Cartooning and Animation In this class students will learn the funamentals of drawing such as line, form and perspective to apply in observational drawing and portraiture. Cartooning will be explored, teaching students the basics of characature study and styles to create their own cartoons. Basic animation will also be introduced with flipbook creations in addition to other forms of animation.

S-3 Painting with Stencils Create wonderful works of art by utilizing paint and stencils! Pre-cut stencils and water based spray paint will be used create art on surfaces such as paper and textiles. Students will also study the stencil work of Master LA Artists for inspiration! Saturdays – Time: 10:00-11:30a • Age: 6-17 • Limit: 10 • Cost: FREE Instructor: Shandu One • Location: Patio

 

S-4 Papier-Mâché Masks Students will create amazing papier-mâché masks while larning the mold making process. Paste, paper, molds and paint will be utilized to complete their mask project. The properties of form, balance and texture will be implemented in their project. Students will also study the great works of master sculptors and papier-mâché artists to fuel their creativity!

S-5 Game Design Learn to design retro video games! Students will create their own retro video game while utilizing the appication “Scratch”. Students will learn to code their games to enhance sound and graphics with templates. This class is for beginners.

S-6 Interactive Digital Imaging In this series of workshops students will make their pencil drawings come to life! Students will utilize the digital applications: “Makey Makey” circuit board and various multi media projects, using code to capture images, alter, enhance sound and visual graphics.

S-7 Ceramic Studio Explore your creativity by sculpting and hand building in the Ceramic Studio! Students will experience creating 3D art by learning the fundamental techniques of ceramics to create beautiful works of art. Additional materials and methods will be taught while learning the various techniques of forming, glazing and low firing in this course.

Amid the San Fernando Valley lies an oasis – a 6.5-acre garden featuring three gardens in one. First, the Japanese Garden has a dry Zen meditation garden containing Tortoise Island, a three-buddha arrangement of stones, and a wisteria arbor at the end of the Plover Path.
