Event Schedule

Screenings of the six episodes of the landmark American miniseries Roots (1977). Based on Alex Haley’s Pulitzer Prize–winning novel, the series traces the harrowing journey of an African man, Kunta Kinte, who is captured and sold into slavery in the 18th century, and follows his descendants through generations of struggle and survival in America, all the way to the aftermath of the Civil War.
