La Junta 10th Anniversary: A Celebration of Afro Latin Music and Culture

LA-based DJ collective La Junta celebrates 10 years of cultural celebrations that feature tropical Afro-Latin music. Resident selectors Degruvme, Yukicito, Miz HoneyP, and Glenn Red – whose respective ethnic heritages begin in Mexico, Japan, and the Philippines – together create a rich pastiche of tropical dance music celebrated for its unique balance of
vintage and cutting-edge sounds. The event features live performances by Nadia Calmet & Chacambo, Taller Bula, Volcan and La Junta SoundSystem. Join us for an evening of rhythms, food, artisan vendors, and cocktails.

MAP Civic Orchestra of Los Angeles Inaugural Concert

The Musicians at Play (MAP) Foundation is launching the Civic Orchestra of Los Angeles with an inaugural concert on April 28th at 8:00 pm at the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles under the direction of Conductor and Music Director Anthony Parnther. The mission of the new Los Angeles-based 70-member orchestra is to provide career pathways, world-class training, and performance opportunities for young professional musicians in Southern California.
