Creating in Community: Fowler at 60 celebrates the sixtieth anniversary of the Fowler Museum at UCLA. As we look back at the research, exhibitions, and public programs of the past sixty years, we recognize that the most joyful and interesting projects have been those created with others. Through these collaborations fresh ideas bloomed, unforeseen challenges and expectations arose, and new connections were forged. Come revisit these extraordinary projects with us, as we bring this spirit of engagement into the future…
Museums of the Arroyo Day
Five museums in Pasadena and Los Angeles open their doors to the public for a free admission along with cultural events, kid’s activities and family fun. Free shuttles connect museums: The Gamble House, Heritage Square, Los Angeles Police Museum, Lummis Home, Pasadena Museum of History.
CHAKRAS
Artronika presents an immersive art, music, and dining experience. CHAKRAS features a 7-Course Indian tasting experience prepared by Bombay Beach Restaurant to convey the meaning of each chakra (the seven mystical energy centers in the human body). We entertain guests with live musicians, artists, models, stand-up comedy, contortionists, body painting, and pyrography. Join us for this unique experience celebrating South Asian culture. Free admission, VIP 7-Course Tasting $30.
South and Southeast Asian Paintings and Sculpture
The Norton Simon Museum houses a world-renowned collection of South and Southeast Asian art that includes examples of the rich sculptural and painting traditions that developed in this region over more than 2,000 years.
