The Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) will present an Afro-Latinx festival with a day full of free activities. You can start the day off by joining Contra Mestre Corpo Fechado with CDFC Capoeira. Listen to live music by Garifuna American Heritage Foundation United and the sounds of traditional drums accompanied by maracas, turtle shells, and conch. Cuban choreographer Kati Hernandez will perform, combining the magic and flavor of Cuban rumba, Oricha dances, Afro-Cuban Jazz. Register to view Jose Angel’s Solo Kinetic Painting Live Demo Performance, where he unifies painting, dance, martial arts, fashion, live art performance, photography, and video into a singular, compelling experience. Juried Art presentation on site will feature ten (10) artworks highlighting the Afro-Latinx heritage. African and Afro-Latinx Food will also be available for purchase. Paid parking will be available on site. We encourage visitors to take public transportation to the event.
