Join us for the ninth FirstThursday ArtWalk of 2023? We’ll be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! Come out, visit with your friends, and see some art.

One of the first in the region, the monthly First Thursday ArtWalk happens between Pacific Ave, Harbor Boulevard, 4th and 9th streets. Mark your calendars for Thursday, September 7, 2023.

The Guided ArtWalk Tour will gather at 5:30pm (walk at 6pm), in Palm Realty Pop-Up Gallery, 255 W 6th Street, and end the tour at Collage- A Place for Art & Culture, 731 S Pacific Avenue. Along the way, we will visit the Boys & Girls Club exhibition at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 601 S Palos Verdes Street, Gallery Azul 520 W 8th Street, and Gallery 741/ It’s Showtime!, 741 S Pacific Ave.

The band performing on the corner of 6th and Mesa will be the Amerigumbo Band. Hungry after all that walking? The Food Truck Alley will return to Mesa Street between 7th and 5th streets and feature a variety of food trucks.

Moompetam American Indian Festival

You are invited to join the Aquarium of the Pacific for its twentieth annual Moompetam American Indian Festival. This celebration features traditional cultural craft demonstrations, storytelling, music, and dance. The festival celebrates indigenous California maritime cultures, including Tongva, Chumash, Acjachemen, Costanoan, Luiseño, and Kumeyaay. General admission is required.
