This online seminar for K-12 educators examines China’s transformation over the past eight decades, including political institutions, economic reform, environmental challenges, and evolving U.S.- China relations. Led by Clayton Dube, the course includes recorded lectures, readings, forum participation, and weekly Zoom discussions.

This lecture explores how upper-class literate women in late imperial China became doctors, learned herbal medicine, and chose this path. Speaker Lorraine Wilcox, an experienced translator of Chinese medical texts and author on Chinese medicine topics, restores the nearly lost legacy of these pioneering women.
