The Art of the Covenant and the Mushroom Symphony is a spiritually infused exhibition by self-taught visual artist and mycologist Jah Orah, born in Pomona and raised in Los Angeles. Known for transforming organic materials (especially mushroom coffee) into abstract visual narratives, Orah’s work bridges ancestral wisdom, cultural symbolism, and environmental consciousness. Painted on raw cotton canvas, each piece in The Art of the Covenant series functions as a portal for reflection and transformation. Rooted in Afrofuturism and natural alchemy, this body of work invites viewers to awaken their senses, honor resilience, and reimagine what’s possible. The exhibition includes new works and portraits of local legends rendered in richly organic form.
