Increasingly, the materials that make up people’s lives are becoming more digital, but not everyone has the equipment or knowledge to properly take care of them. Many analog formats, such as VHS, degrade over time and need to be digitized before the recordings are lost. The Los Angeles Public Library provides the following services do-it-yourself digitization of photos, video, sound recordings, and other formats.

We Live in Painting: The Nature of Color in Mesoamerican Art
Mesoamerican artists held a cosmic responsibility: as they adorned the surfaces of buildings, clay vessels, textiles, bark-paper pages, and sculptures with color, they (quite literally) made the world. On the National Language: The Poetry of America’s Endangered Tongues
This exhibition showcases forty-seven portraits of speakers and students of endangered languages living in the United States.
