Tia Chucha’s host Tarima y Tambor’s Community Guided Listening & Music Workshop

Sunday, January 7, 2024 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.

Build a collective vision of music and dance in our Community with Maestros César Castro and Eduardo Martinez. They will present a preview of their project Tarima y Tambor.  A project that creates dialogue through drum and dance using traditional Son Jarocho music from Veracruz, Mexico and traditional music from Colombia.  Bring your family and your instruments!

Food and childcare will be provided.

We Live in Painting: The Nature of Color in Mesoamerican Art

Mesoamerican artists held a cosmic responsibility: as they adorned the surfaces of buildings, clay vessels, textiles, bark-paper pages, and sculptures with color, they (quite literally) made the world. Color mapped the very order of the cosmos, of time and space. The exhibition explores the science, art, and cosmology of color in Mesoamerica. See website for ticket prices and registration.
