Please join us for the 2024 Sony Pictures Media Arts Program Culmination Screening, celebrating the creative work of our 6 classes of youth artists over 30 weeks!

Featuring original animated shorts from students at:

  • Center for the Arts Eagle Rock
  • Pacoima Public Library
  • Watts Towers Arts Center
  • William Reagh Photography Center
  • Wilmington Public Library
  • SPMAP Online

Sony Pictures Media Arts Program (SPMAP): Fall ’23 – Spring ’24

The Sony Pictures Media Arts Program (SPMAP) is a free after-school animation program offered through a partnership between the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, the CalArts Community Arts Partnership, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and the Los Angeles Public Library. This class explores topics such as the principles of animation, animation history, comics, storyboarding, story development, character design, world building, stop motion, video creation, and much more!
SPMAP is open for students ages 11-17.  All supplies are provided and no previous experience is required.
