This session will give an overview of Chinese genealogy books (also known as zupu or jiapu): what they are, how they can be used in your Chinese family history research, and how to search for yours inside the My China Roots database. Using samples from the database, Clotilde Yap will present the main sections of a typical zupu, how to locate your ancestor’s name, and how to extract your lineage from a zupu.
