Fourth Annual Lunar New Year Celebration
The DCA Performing Arts Divisionis delighted to present the fourth annual Lunar New Year Celebration, featuring activities taking place from January 18 to March 1, 2026. Originally launched in 2023, this year’s Lunar New Year festivities will expand from 11 to 12 events happening at multiple sites throughout Los Angeles. This year we celebrate the Year of the Horse, and festivities include Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese culturally-specific dance, food and arts festivals, film screenings, live theater, street fairs, parades, and story-telling. DCA brings these programs to the public through close collaboration with community partners to highlight the diversity of traditions observed in Los Angeles. K-Popalooza

This Lunar New Year event celebrates the vibrant music, culture, and global fandom of K-pop with live performances, engaging panels, and unique shopping experiences. K-pop’s aesthetic-driven blend of pop, rock, hip-hop, R&B, and dance—shaped by Korean culture, traditional influences, and multilingual lyrics—offers something for every listener. Whether you're a longtime fan or just discovering the Korean Wave, this gathering invites you to immerse yourself in the creativity and community that have made K-pop a worldwide phenomenon. Celebrate the Year of the Horse at the free, family-friendly Lunar New Year Night Market in Koreatown, featuring a vibrant array of cultural performances such as a Korean Hanbok Show, Taekwondo demonstrations, a traditional Chinese Lion Dance, and a Vietnamese Ao Dai Fashion Show. Enjoy educational workshops on Lunar New Year traditions, complimentary food and drinks from local AAPI entrepreneurs, and a night-market experience filled with unique vendors offering handcrafted and innovative goods. Perfect for all ages, this festive event brings the community together in a joyful celebration of culture, unity, and the Lunar New Year.

Ancestral Dreamscapes: Asian American Film & Moving Image

Join us in celebrating the Year of the Horse with a one-day Lunar New Year Short Film Festival featuring a curated selection of works by Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese artists working across experimental, narrative, and embodied practices. Curated by BAD ASIANS, this year’s program, Ancestral Dreamscapes: Asian American Moving Image, brings together film, video art, and live performance. Drawing from mythology, ritual and ancestral knowledge, the artists trace forms of intimacy and kinship emerging across generations and geographies. Evoking diasporic longing while enacting queer world-making, the program positions the body and the motherland as sites of memory and transmutation, illuminating the wild, unruly, and imaginative possibilities of being Asian American today.
