2023 Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Heritage Month True Colours: Pride Flags Celebrating Queer Identity Exhibition Opening and City Council Presentation

Join Mayor Karen Bass; Los Angeles City Council President Paul Krekorian, Councilmember, District 2; the Los Angeles City Council; the 2023 Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Heritage Month Chair, Traci Park, Councilmember, District 11; and the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) to officially commemorate and celebrate the opening of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Heritage Month in the City of Los Angeles.

This year’s LGBT Heritage Month theme is: Pride Across Los Angeles. The celebration will kick off at City Hall on June 2, 2023, with the True Colours: Pride Flags Celebrating Queer Identity Exhibition Opening at 9:00 a.m. in DCA’s Henry P. Rio Bridge Gallery at City Hall followed by the LGBT HM City Council Presentation at 10:00 a.m. in City Hall’s John Ferraro Council Chamber during the City Council meeting. The 2023 LGBT Heritage Month Chair, Traci Park, Councilmember, District 11, will honor a number of organizations that host Pride events across the city at this presentation.

Later in the evening, the City Hall Lighting in Pride Colors will take place with the colors on view through the evening of June 4. Also on the evening of June 2, the LAX Pylons Lighting in Pride Colors will take place. On Sunday, June 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., a contingent of City of Los Angeles LGBTQ+ employees will participate in the CSW LA Pride Parade.
